Flea Market Favorites

When it comes to jewelry I like very dainty, delicate, unique gold pieces that tell a story. I would say about 90% of my jewelry collection has come from flea markets, street fairs and boutiques from all over the world. I’ve spent many weekends sifting through markets all around Los Angeles and Orange County and I have a few favorites.

Melrose Trading Post

One of my favorite flea markets in Los Angeles is Melrose Trading Post because you can find anything from jewelry to unique furniture pieces. There are all types of vendors ranging from vintage to modern and everyone is pretty easy going when it comes to bargaining. The last time I went I was able to buy a bundle of earrings for pretty cheap because I grabbed so many and the vendor knew I was a returning customer. You might even see a celeb if you look hard enough.

Long Beach Antique Market

I always go to Long Beach Antique Market when I’m looking for vintage decor pieces for my home. The best purchase I ever got from there was my gold-rimmed mirror that I used to create a homemade vanity. I was able to bargain with the vendor and he wouldn’t let me leave until I left with that mirror, hello discount! The used decor pieces can be re-purposed into something really beautiful, not to mention they won’t break the bank.

Patchwork Show

The Patchwork Show is always fun because it’s a ‘Modern Makers Festival’ meaning it’s a bunch of emerging artists selling their one-of-a-kind hand-made pieces. I come here for jewelry, clothing and artwork because it’s so different than anything I see in the stores. It’s always exciting to support emerging artists and watch their careers blossom. Also, they usually sell their items for cheaper at these shows than they do on their online boutiques.
